What is the IRR MADWISH programme?
Free English tutoring lessons for Migrant Workers!
IRR is dedicated to supporting migrant workers in Singapore through a variety of initiatives, and one such endeavour is the "Make A Difference (MAD) While I Stay at Home (WISH)" programme MADWISH, initiated in April 2020. In 2023, we pivoted to in-person classes at our new facility, inspIRRe. This transition provides our beneficiaries an opportunity to both learn, connect and interact with each other and our volunteers.
Requirements:
Minimum commitment of 21 hours within 6 months; 3 hours per month
Minimum age of 21 years old
Teaching Venue is at inspIRRe @217 Henderson Road, #03-07, Singapore 159555
Lessons happen every Sunday, however, teachers need not come every Sunday - 10.30am to 12pm, 12pm to 1.30pm
Must attend a Trainer session and shadow Lessons 1-2 (we also advise shadowing the subsequent lessons)
Things to Take Note of:
IRR will provide curriculum and lesson materials to teachers - these are to be used solely in the delivery of the programme and should not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without prior approval.
If you are unable to conduct a class you have signed up for, please inform us in advance and check in the Teachers group chat if anyone is available to cover your session.
